How to Fix Plinth Back Above Garage Door

A wooden plinth above my garage door has fallen off, leaving a roughly 7cm deep gap over my garage door, where rain can now get in. It looks like the baton was previously glued in place as there is a yellow-ish residue on the lintel, but I'm not sure what adhesive to use to refix it, or how to clamp the plinth in place whilst the glue dries. I'd be grateful for any help, I'm clueless!
