Ski Repair Suggestions That Could Take a Chunky Screw

Much loved old pair of cross-country skis no longer have anywhere I can screw in the binding. I could hollow out an area about the size of a cigarette pack to a depth of 2cm and fill it with a filler. However that filler must bond well with the plastics and honeycomb structure of the ski, then take three 12mm fat screws to hold the metal binding to the ski. That binding will be subject to large lateral and pulling forces during a turn. Wood fillers and adhesives are probably too brittle and difficult to get screws into. I considered a wood adhesive/sawdust mix but was not sure about that. Any suggestions?
