There’s a big gap between the top of my stair stringer and wall which has removed a few bits of cement and has exposed the bricks, which I can also see outside. What should I use to fill this gap in. Also if it helps, a few cement bits have fallen in between the staircase and so there must some space in between.[url][/url]

First check why there is a large gap, is the adjacent wall stable i.e. Is it bulging. If all is ok use expanding foam to fill the gap and fit a trimmer on top of the stringer to hide the foam.
