New Tenants Moving in Whilst old Contract is Still Live

Hi there,
We have a situation now where a tenant's contract runs until the end of the month, but they are physically moving out mid way through the month (and are actually leaving the country).
We have new tenants lined up who want to move in shortly before the end of the month. Is this allowed, as the current tenant's contract is technically still live for a few days after the new tenants move in.
