Depth of step (landing) required for step down main door

I have quite a unique problem, the main door of my new apartment opens into my living room but 23cm above floor level.
The previous owner built an entry landing but I’m hoping to remove it and put in a simple step. Does anyone know if there are specific building regulations involved with this sort of opening?
From the picture you can see that the wall on the left has a depth of 45cm. My plan was to use that mark as the step down point so having a 45cm ledge. The current ledge is around 1.4m depth.
I’ll need to move the boiler door to the lower level but that shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I did google searches but couldn’t find any specific regulations regarding step down depths for main doors.
