Bi-Fold Threshold Around Extension and Channel Gulley

I am carrying out an extension, is it best to install a channel gulley around the extension, as I am having bi-folds both sides and am going to have the patio virtually flush to the doors both sides, also would it be good practice to install a second DPM 150mm above this level.
