Guys

have offered to help friends replace the stairs in their new ( old ) house but havent done it before, anything i should be looking out for ??

its a straight run in a corridor in an 1890 house, so i assume it may be bolted into both walls ?

any tipsd, help, suggestions would be great thanks !

Im used to fitting kitchens and sheds etc to give you an idea of weather i Can do it or not ? :)

Unusual to have a staircase bolted at the sides they are usually just fixed to top landing joists and to the floor. Sometimes the botton step and newel post are fixed into the screed. When you have worked it loose do not stand underneath unless you have some help holding it up as staircases are surprisingly heavy.
