I wish to remove a timber load bearing wall.
What doI use as a lintel? What side supports do I use as there will be
no brick piers?Would it be better to have a steel frame made
and make concrete pads under the floor?
Would appreciate some guidance.

Employ a structural engineer who will design and produce calculations for the load that the steel will have to carry and you will also have to make an application to your Local Authority Building Control for any structural work carried out.

How do you know the timber wall is load bearing?

are you sure its a load bearing wall? supporting walls are an integral part of the structure of the house. they don't often build supporting walls with timber. unless its a timber house?
