I have a built in wardrobe in my 1980's terrace house. When we moved in the previous occupants had taken out the sliding wardrobe doors. Height of opening is 205cm and width 135cm. I can't seem to find any doors from local diy stores that could fit and carpentors have quoted over £300 can anyone advise me where to get doors and how to fit. The track is no longer there.

Thanks for the advise but i have looked at their web site and they are quite expensive aswell. I might have to except it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to replace!!!!!!

Might be cheaper to alter the frame to make it fit a DIY sized door.

You'll probably only have to lower the height by securing a new cross member at the correct hight from the floor. You'll need to remove the existing architrave and alter it to fit and fill in the gap above with a bit of plasterboard, filler and then redecorate etc.

"Height of opening is 205cm and width 135cm. I can't seem to find any doors from local diy stores that could fit........"

You won't unless you are really lucky. You'll need to get the best fit and adjust the opening accordingly.

".....and carpentors have quoted over £300"

Bite his hand off if that includes supply and fit.

Cheers

yes i think your right, i'm going to get a tradesman to supply and fit. I don't think i would be able to buy doors of that size from a shop and i think they would be fiddly to fit. Thanks all!!!!!!!!!!
