Fixing kitchen wall cabinets to blockwork

by johnbateson » Tue May 27, 2008 4:02 pm

Seems a luxury that Ive got blockwork to fix into as opposed to plasterboard but can you please advise what is the best option for securing the units - was just going to plug and screw - unsure what size of screw though
Any advise would be apprciated

Use 2" x 10 and red or brown plugs if the cupboards are mounted using the std wall plates.

i would use a nice big fat size 12 screw, minimum 2 inches in length. use rawl plugs suitable to that size of screw, readily available just about anywhere. our local tesco even sells them now.

Thanks to both of you - i think I'll go with size 12 screws and plugs to suit to be safe

Thanks again
