Appliances under hobs

I have been designing kitchens for 26 years and have always advised people never to fit any appliance under a hob gas or electric other than an oven or microwave. I have been asked several times about putting dishwashers washing machines and tumble dryers under hobs. I have always said no as this goes against good practice. Other than the obvious, does anybody know of any laws that exist by CORGI and NICEIC that prevent people from putting other appliances under a hob?
