Door swings open

by andy71 » Thu May 10, 2007 11:04 pm

How do i stop an internal door swinging open? I thought I'd solved the problem by moving the top hinge into the door frame slightly but the problem has returned. Cheers. Andy

You had the right idea Andy and its a case of very slight movement oif the hinges to make sure they are lined up properly to stop the door swinging. If it swings open then the top hinge should be moved towards the door stop in the frame or the bottom hinge should be moved out towards the face of the frame. They can also be moved slightly on the door but other than removing the frame and putting it back absolutely plumb, its the only way to stop it.
