Hi Guys,

Can anyone please give me a guide price if I was to have the following fitted to my new kitchen???

3 x laminate worktops into a U shape kitchen:

1 x 2800, 1 x 2300, 1 x 2000mm

The worktops are already in the kitchen cut to approx size so will just need them finally cut, then joints mitred etc and fixed and joined?

Hob and sink cut out

They line up well to the walls so probably won't need much scribing doing... have been quoted £150-175 does this sound fair?

Hi, We just had the same thing done, similar size tops and sink,hob already cut out. We were quoted £150, but we then had to pay a further £50 as the tops are solid wood and were too heavy for the joiner to lift alone and he needed to pay for someone to help him...

It sounds like a fair price to me.

A word of warning though... be very clear what you want doing... our joiner cut a few corners (no pun intended) and I ended up having to correct a couple of things myself! i.e. make sure your units are set correctly to allow an even overhang on the worktop. Either that or instruct them to alter the units should they find that the overhang is uneven in places.

you are basically looking at a day's work for a skilled tradesman. based on your description of the work involved i'd say that this is a fair price.
