I have a gas pipe running down the side of my chimney breast. It has been cased in badly so i want to replace it.
What is the best way of casing in a pipe like this?

i would make a frame from 2x1 latts and cover with plasterboard which
would need to be plastered
Or you could make a box the length and width of the pipe
out of plain mdf and fix to wall with construction adhesive.
then paint mdf to match wall
Be careful not to damage the gas pipe!
