Fitting kitchen / bathroom plinths

I'm fitting a unit which houses a recesssed basin in an ensuite, annd I'm struggling with the plinth. The unit is standalone, and therfore has two returns on it. What is the best way to fit the returns to the main front piece? I've tried mitres, but the laminate chips, and getting them accurate is proving impossible. Do people just butt the two together?
Thanks

Hi,

Yes, I usually just but them together.

The alternative is the mitre joint but find out which way to cut them first on a scrap piece as you can cut through laminate without chipping it.

The trick is to cut from the back with certain saws, eg: a hand saw cuts on the push action and a power saw cuts the other way so you can cut them without chipping.
