Hi,

I want to fit window boards in conservatory using MDF. I have Bullnose MDF which is 290mm depth X 25mm thick The length being 12ft.

I intended just doing 45degree cuts on the ends to join to get L shape I need, however the 12ft lengths does not allow me to do this as they are 180mm short of length of conservatory so I would like to mitre the joints instead. I am experienced at mitre'ng kitchen worktops and have the router and jig and the confidence! Are there jigs available to mitre this width of MDF or can I get away with using the worktop jig with a few alterations of positioning?

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Paul.

if you have done worktop joints then use the same joint for this it will make a better job getting a mitre to fit perfect is awkward

i can't think of any reason why you couldn't use a kitchen worktop jig, the only problem is going to be keeping it secure enough to the small thickness and width of the material you are trying to cut. a job to be done on a bench i think.
