Door handle issues

HI, this is my first post here. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to these sort of things so i hope it works ok.

I am hoping someone can help me.

The handle has come off of our living room door, which should be simple to fix, but there is now no wood to screw back into.

I have hopefully included a picture here so you can see the problem:

Any advice that you can give about how I can fix this would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Mat

I can now see it - thank you. The easy answer is to fit a different handle where the screws go in different locations but that might not be in keeping with your decorative arrangements. The door itself appears (from the picture) to be made of hardboard which is going to be difficult to repair to refit the existing handle.

Without seeing it "in the flesh" its difficult to give more constructive advice over the ether. Sorry.

Cheers
