I need to install a Suspended timber floor into a new extension and have a few questions.

1. Do the joists just sit on the floor plate or should they be attached in some way ?

2. Should the joists be attached to the inner cavity wall in any way ?

3. Where the joists meet the external door opening, should I attach a DPC to the end of the joists ?

Iansb,
Do the joists just sit on the floor plate or should they be attached in some way ? Skew nail.

Should the joists be attached to the inner cavity wall in any way ? If the DPC is below wall plate level the inner cavity can be used for support.

Where the joists meet the external door opening, should I attach a DPC to the end of the joists ? Leave an air gap between the end of the joists and the outer wall.
