Hi

I want to clad a small area ( 2 square metres) on the front of my house with wood. It is to cover existing painted wood cladding. The area does not get the sun, and does not get wet, except if maybe bad wind directs the rain under the porch roof. I have bought some B&Q Select T&G floorboards which are made from various layers of glued hardwood blocks (cross-plied) finished with about 7mm of solid oak.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if using these as external cladding in the area described above might work, of if the moisture in the air, etc will cause the boards to fail?

Thanks

Kev.

As this product is designed to be used internally, I would doubt very much if the engineered board would use waterproof glue in its construction. I would guess the damp conditions of dew, fog or mist outside, would cause the ply section to fail rapidly.
