Floating Shelves - max span

I want to fit floating bookshelves in an alcove 1.9m wide (as shown in the DIY Doctor project - batons screwed to the wall on three sides and not centre bracket). What thickness of pine board would I need for the top of the shelf if the shelves are not to bow at the front edge?
