Hello. I am considering buying a set of reclaimed 1930s double doors (which were situated within an entrance hall). I've only seen photos of them so far, but they look they're simply flush to one another when closed (not quite swing doors, but possibly similar). In other words just hinged, but without locks and all the usual hardware.

Are there especial difficulties in having these converted so that they'd work as a set of 'front', exterior doors? Can anyone tell what I need to check with the vendor before I go buying them?

Any advice gratefully received.

Check that they are exterior quality doors ie that they will stand up to external exposure. They do need to be 1 3/4" thick.

many thanks for this. they are oak - i've been told, so therefore suitable - and are 2 inches thick.... so it looks like they will work ok.
