Needing to replace front external door.

Joiner says cannot find door to fit or to cut down but can finf a door that will require a half inch thick strip stuck on the edge to make it fit gap.

This would be on the hinge side.

He assures me this will be fine but I have my doubts as to how the future life of the door will be affected - strength etc.

Any views welcomed.

Sticking a strip on the door will always be a problem area especially if the door is exposed. See if you can find a reclaim yard with a reasonable 2nd hand door or get a bespoke one made.
