carpentry business

Hi everyone. I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by posting this.... if I am, apologies, and I'm sure the post will be duly removed. I'm posting because I think I can introduce someone out there to a great opportunity. My father is nearing retirement and has been a sole trader carpenter for his entire life, running a great fitted bedroom and kitchen company single-handedly for 35 years. He hasn't got a clue about business though and didn't realise he might actually be able to sell his company on retirement.
I have a slightly better idea so I pledged to try and help him out. The business has turned a good consistent profit every single year since he started it, even during the tough downturns in the 90s and just recently. For the last 15 years he has not advertised once... all business has been purely through word of mouth and recommendations. He covers the south east of London and operates out of a small factory in Charlton. The average annual profit for the last 4 years has been around the £25k mark... these are audited accounts prepared by an accountant for tax purposes....
With such a strong customer base and reputation, I think there's a great opportunity for either a local business in a similar field or a young up and coming carpenter to hit the ground running and purchase a business which has great expansion prospects (or of course just a stable income stream if you're not so ambitious).
If anyone is either interested in a confidential discussion, or knows someone who might be, I hope you get in touch by replying to this thread. This is genuine, and we're of course happy to provide a massive amount of supporting paperwork, introductions to dozens of satisified customers, and long handover period, tours of the factory, introduction to the supplier base etc etc to ensure everything is done smoothly and professionally.
I hope someone out there can help as we're loathe to go via a small business broker who charges extortionate fees.
Thanks and regards,
Joe
