laying 18mm solid wood plank on existing staire

Just finished the floors now want to lay solid oak wood plank 18mm 90mm on the existing staircase with each step being 80cm wide .
My question is do i need to leave an expansion gap on either side of the step and is this also necessary for the stair noses.Glueing down and think its going to look great but just worried about this.Really would appreciate
any help and advice
