Split in american walnut worktop and advice needed for fix

Hi everyone, hoping to get a bit of advice here. I had an American Walnut worktop installed in the kitchen about 2 years ago and couple of months ago I noticed split in the worktops where it sits against tall cabinet side. On the other end its joined to another piece of worktop (to its side) so I think it must have split because there was no expansion gap left by the fitter against the tall cabinet (pull out tall larder in case it matters).
I am not sure it is getting any worse but I want to fix it/secure it somehow so it definitely doesn't get worse in future. Below this worktop is built in freezer so I can pull it out and work underneath if required but have no idea how to fix it.
Would someone please give me advice how staves could be secured so they don't continue splitting?
Attached some photos to show the problem. Many thanks.
