Fitting Pre Primed Sqaure Skirting

Hi
The skirting to be used is square profile, pre primed MDF.
Am i correct in thinking that due to the lack off needing to scribe i should butt the internals and mitre external joints?
My main issue here is that its pre primed, gluing a pre primed butt doesn't sound right.
Should i -
1) Mitre the internals as well so its clean timbre getting glued?
2) Butt but with a screw also holding the joint together (this i imagine is going to get tricky with long lengths.
3) Butt and glue over primer should be sufficient
Many thanks
Tom
