Looks Like Some Type of Rot or Something - Could There be Woodworm Issues?

Wasn’t sure if the best part of the forum for this but the missus phoned me earlier today panicking about potential woodworm problem.
The piece of timber in the picture is above our wood burner and it does show a type of damage but I’m not sure what it could be?
Any thoughts?
