Black Spots on New Oak Veneer Windows

Hi,
I've had joiners from a local firm in fitting Windows for the past few days. The woodwork on the Windows they fitted today seem to have black spots engrained into the wood and is quite noticable. The wood they've used is oak veneer mdf, is this normal or should I phone the company and say something?
