Lead paint issues after sanding door frame?

I'm worrying myself sick. We live in a Victorian house and husband started sanding our bedroom door frame and a sill in the stairway. I'm pregnant and read it's ok to sand, then I came across a link about lead.
I told him to stop so half the door frame has been sanded.
When we moved in 10 years ago we painted over these areas.
How can you tell if the paint underneath was lead based?
I've ordered a test kit but in the meantime I've slept downstairs because I'm paranoid.
The room was ventilated and we cleaned like crazy afterwards.
I was mainly downstairs when he was sanding but I did go up to have a look and there was dust in the air. The cat was also having a little stroll upstairs.

Here are.some photos.
Please help as I'm reading horror scenarios online.
Thanks
Nina

Hi

Your test kit, when it arrives, should be able to confirm if the paint is lead based.

In the mean time we have a project page that covers the dangers and how to dela with it, if it is lead-based: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/s ... -paint.htm

Kind Regards

It is red. Now I don't know what to do. I can get a blood test to check lead levels.
Is there anything else I should do? Can you recommend specialist?

Hi

In light of this it may be a good idea to speak to your GP as they should be able to advise or put you in touch with the relevant specialist.

Kind Regards
