Safety issues with wooden cover for fuse box

Can anyone tell me if there are any safety issues with using tongue and groove wooden boarding to make a unit to cover an electrical fuse box?
I was planning to make it so is stands on the floor and attach to the skirting since I don't know where the wiring runs.
Are they any flammability / safety issues with making from wood? Do I need to add any ventilation holes?
Thanks
