Hi, I need to fit an exterior hardwood door, the current door is
80" x 32 1/2", so to get a door that is 80" x 32" I then need to build up the frame and want to know the easiest and safest way of doing this.
Thanks.

hi shoesmc for doors its usual to mesure not in inches but feet and inches I.E the size you would need is 6foot 9inches by 2foot 9inches, taking 1inch from the hight and a half inch from the width. This would meet your needs. If on the other hand you have already a door you wish to use add a half inch baton to the hinge style glued and screwed keeping clear of where the hinges will be fitted and when hanging the door increase the length of the screws in the hinge to compensate for the baton that you have added on, hope this is of some help good luck.

yes, billy d is right - it will be easier to build up the door by half an inch than to build up the frame. just remember to use those longer screws to fit the hinges!
