oil fired boiler & wood fired boiler running side by sid

Hi diy doc, i live in a house heated only by an oil fired boiler situated in my utility room , is it possible to install and run a wood burning boiler next to it , using the same flue and water pipes , or am i talking nonsense , , hench nickname., technophobe.

Well for a start, you cannot use the same flue. Each appliance needs to have it's own.

As for the water side, it depends upon your existing plumbing arrangement. The wood burner will probably do no more than heat your hot water, so if this is correct, and your tank is gravity fed it may be possible to connect it in tandem with your oil boiler.
