Bathroom rad is on when heating is off

by Guppstah » Thu May 03, 2007 2:23 pm

I believe this is an old fashioned system and the bathroom radiator is separate to the rest of the systems radiators. This is fine normally, nice warm , dry towells all year round. But right now it is a problem as I want to change this radiator.
I assumed it was on the hot water system , instead of the same system as all the other rads, but I have tried turning the hot water off and still water is supplied to this rad. Do I need to drain down my main radiator system even though this rad seems to be separate?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This rad uses the same water as your heating rads, it's just on the circuit which heats your hot water cylinder. Drin the heating system and you should be able to change it.

[unless your new rad is the same size. then just shut the valves and hang new rad. no need to drain whole system
