Boiler pipework

by kenith » Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:23 pm

I want to take out a Potterton Flamingo 50 boiler , it has 2 22mm and 2 28mm pipes. The 22mm I assume is for the ch and dhw, does the 28mm pipes serve as the cold water fill from the roof tank and the expansion pipe? In dissconecting the pipes I obviously want to maintain the cold water supply to the house.
Thanks

Normally:

2 x 28mm primary flow and return (heats water in tank or cylinder)
2 x 22mm flow and return (central heating, heats radiators)
1 x 15mm/22mm gas

then it depends on your system, may have a tank in the loft which feeds the central heating - or this may be integral with the elson tank.

If you're unsure - leave it alone. As it may cost you more in the long run
