Hi,

Looking at finally getting central heating installed in my house. The only problem is that the house was recently decorted, including flooring throughout the house. Would it be wise to assume that the house would need a lot of redecorating after installation, or would it be something that could easily be sorted?

Any help appreciated.

You will definately need to lift flooring for running pipes etc. It depends on the layout of your house, where will the boiler go ? best way to route pipes, do you have wooden or concrete floors downstairs ?

If you have concrete floors the easiest way is to have the pipes dropping down from the ceilings in trunking (can then be sunk into the walls when/if you re-decorate each room) the most damage will be abit plaster patching where the pipes come through ceilings and re-painting.

If you have wooden floors downstairs - and the pipes are able to come up through the floors, there will be no damage to walls or ceilings. Just one hole where the flow and return will need to come from the boiler (assuming it is upstairs) to under the floor downstairs.

Get a few quotes, they will be able to tell you the best way of installing the system, and what damage if any will be caused.

The boiler would probably be put in the position of the water heater which is currently in the bathroom.

There is wood/laminate flooring upstairs and ceramic tiles throughout downstairs, so I guess walls would be the best option.
