Hi

I would like some information about a Baxi Bermuda 572 Back boiler. The problem is the main gas to boiler does not come on. Having had someone check it out it would seem the problem is the gas solenoid. There is a supply to it but there is no continuity through the coil? I have aquired a complete boiler and fire from ebay which I thought was lucky as the this model boiler has been obsolete for a long time. The boiler/fire from ebay has not been fired/installed but on checking the solenoid there is no reading across the coil. Either we have missed the diagnosis with the solenoid or I have been stupid/unlucky that the other boiler has also got a defunct solenoid. As the alternative in replacing the back boiler with a new system/combi boiler is going to be pretty expensive I am trying to see if the back boiler can be given a stay of execution.

Any information or advice would be most appreciated.

It does sound like the solenoid is at fault, if you're getting power to the gas valve but it is not opeing the valve then it is the solenoid.

Are you sure you cannot get a new gas valve for this boiler ? most of the bermuda BBU use the same gas valve which are still available.

Is the gas valve you require on this page.........

Many thanks for the response. I had been told by Interpart/Baxi that the part was obsolete. I was hoping that as the fire/boiler from ebay had not been installed/fired the coil would be alright. I did check it but even with no reading as I had travelled a long way to pick it up I thought I may have missed something so took the chance on buying it. I will try to find out what specification the valve/coil is and hope for a miracle.
