I am building a new kitchen extension and can't decide whether to heat it by radiator/s running of oil fired combi boiler (oil very expensive!!) or electric underfloor heating. Any advice as to running costs very welcome. Thanks

Electricity has always been the most expensive of fuels, and I know that with the increase in the price of oil recently, it may no longer be the dearest. However, regardless of markets, the costs will eventually balance out to an as before state.

Having said all that, I would not choose underfloor heating as the main form of room heating either. Such systems are very slow to respond often taking too long to warm up and the end result is your having to open windows to let out the heat because the room has then got too hot.

Frankly, I would just stick to a traditional radiator linked to the oil combi.
