hot water but no heating

The boiler is a worcester heatslave 12/14, hot water is fine just no heating - I think it may be the diverter valve? there is a sliding knob on the side of the diverter which doesn't seem to want to move, would this indicate the valve is broken? if so what sort of cost am I looking at for a replacement unit?
