Running the OFCH

Hi - simple question..

Assuming I don't need the OFCH to heat the house or heat water, do I need to run the OFCH system?
(ie: can it be left off for weeks?).

What would happen if I don't?

Thanks

What's OFCH? I am guessing Oil fired central heating?

If so, it is always advisable to run heating systems for a while every so often (Weekly) as this prevents sediments solidifying and avoids pumps, valves and other moving parts from seizing up. Some new boilers automatically run a cycle if the system is not used for a period.
