Hi All,
As with the energy prices being high I was thinking of ways to save money. One of them is to fit a thermostat to the hot water cylinder as there is not one there already.

The system was converted to fully pumped when I had the boiler replaced about 8 years ago

Do you think this will cause the boiler to use less gas, when using the thermostat on the cylinder rather than the boiler thermostat?

Fitting a tank stat will save money as the boiler will shut down when both the room and tank stats reach temp.

How easily this can be done depends on your current wiring and controls. Unless you can convert the system and wiring to a "Y" plan yourself, the cost of an electrician and materials may outweigh the savings for some considerable time.
