Tacky substance from boiler

Hi all,
My problem is I have Baxi Riva condensing boiler not very old (1 year)
It has started to weep what I can only explain as a tacky gluey substance a little like tree sap but not as thick. There is a vent on the underside of the boiler where this substance was coming from. On closer inspection and looking at the manual, above this vent is the boiler pump and push down air valve. No sign of anything sinsister. What could this be?

It is possible you have a minuscule water leak at that point. The water is evaporating leaving the remains of the rust inhibitor that is mixed with the water.

Ah, now that's a good question. If my suggestion is right, then the tacky stuff is unlikely to do any harm. If there is a leak, then not only can water get out, but oxygen can get in. Will this cause any damage? Probably not, but that depends more upon how much is leaking and where from precisely.
