Cold or Luke Warm Radiators

My parents have an ageing central heating system. One of the radiators with TRVs only gets luke warm. I have taken the sensor head off, but the valve pin is stuck. I am assuming that the valve is stuck in the nearly closed position. Do I need to repalce this valve, or is it possible to repair?

A second downstairs radiator is stone cold, not even the input pipes are warm. Any ideas on this one?

Thanks very much.

sounds like it needs a flushing out - buy a system cleaner from any diy store and follow the instructions.

valves are getting clogged with age - may need replacing if you can't repair them. TRVs not very expensive, so easy to replace if you are confident of replacing the tails from the radiator in question. Unlikely that you can repair it since the system sounds old and parts obsolete.

Hi,

Trv pins need freeing up wd40 and a few light taps on valve body with hammer.
You can pull the pin up with pliers but only 2 - 3mm.
