Actuator Head problem

Hi

I have an SD 2701 Sunvic actuator head (3-port, 4 wires). The handle that moves between 2 positons ('normal use' and 'flushing only') is broken, i.e. it is loose and does not move between the 2 positions. The actuator itself is working fine with all the programming functions (hot water and heating switch on and off correctly). However, there is a pipe that goes into the loft tank that seems to be warm all the time, even when the system is switched off (the radiators, pump and other pipes are cold though).

So it looks like the mini switches that turn on and off hot water and heating are fine, but the handle that moves from 'normal use' to 'flushing only' may be broken. Does anyone know what the 'flushing only' function do in case the actuator handle is stuck at that position? Am I safe to keep the actuator or do I need to replace it as it may be wasting electricity when the system is off?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I suspect the 'flushing' position is used when draining down/ power flushing.

Just swap the head?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean replace the head with a new one? Last night, I tried turning the head 180 degrees and screwed it again but the situation was the same.

Thanks.
