Baxi Back Boiler - No Hot Water

After a prob with the feeder tank going a bit dry - now have hot lovely hot rads, but tepid 'hot' water.
Into the airing cupboard  : HW pipe (going to the coil) is hot after leaving the manual-3-way-valve.
Could this be an air lock ? If so, can it be cleared without dismantling the system ?
Also, by the way, the 1970's 'Simplicity' manual-3-way-valve is siezed in the mid-way position. I was told they don't do them any more. Is that correct ?
