Air in central heating system

I have a conventional oil fired c/h system in a bungalow that I have rented out for over 2 yrs .
Previous tenants have not reported any problems but when checking system at change of tenants (after property empty 1 mnth) I descovered it was noisy (banging -particularly in cylinder) and rads full of air.
Bled rads but air still got into system- appeared to be through vent pipe and small amount of water also getting pumped back into header tank; reduced pump speed to 2 which helped (Setting 1 didn't pump water through boiler -hight of approx.2 meters above pump which is set almost at floor level) but rads still need bleeding approx daily and noisy particularly after hot water drawn off for bath. Where do I go from here?
