Help!!
When heating kicked in this morning there was an almighty bang from the boiler as it fired up as tho' too much gas was being ignited.
The boiler is a Potterton NETAHEAT 16/22 MK2 which was serviced last year and runs efficiently according to the gas bills.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing the problem such as a new part needed or worst case a new boiler ouch!!

All suggestions taken seriously as the explosion was quite scary.

The only possible suggestion is turn it off and do not use it until you have an RGI look at it.

Yes and they stripped the boiler down and could not find anything major.

They did say that the 4 screws holding the front plate of the burner box were loose and air could have been affecting the ignition.

Any way it was fully serviced and so far no more bangs.

Pleased to hear it - at least you arent sitting on a bomb now!!!
