Crikey - do you pause for breath when talking?

Seriously though, LoL at the guy who said it needed balancing, turned down a couple of rads, and left after 5 minutes. It takes a couple of hours to balance a CH system properly!

These guys either don't know what they are doing or are just flannelling you. Did they ALL arrive on horseback.

I think you should call Warm Front - get them to send their Inspector round, explain the tale to him and allow him to sort them out.

Cheers

i never stop for breath wen im talking lol. it was warm front who sent the guy out. the company who fit it just wont come out at all. explained that to warm front n they said the company who fit it is not liable after 30 days so now no-one wants to help. so fitters wont come back. n warm front says it just needs balancing . which is rubbish! so were they teed into the flow and return im thinking of upgrading the pipe work from 10mm to either 15mm or 22mm will this help the radiators heat up better ? sorry for confusing everybody with last post just frustrated wish i kept my old boiler now lol

No! This is not right. You should not accept the rubbish about 30 days.

Firstly, find out what the problem is, secondly, write to Warm Front and tell them unless they fix it, you are going to get it done and send them the bill.

It doesn't seem like balancing, to to be quite honest, I have tried to read your post, but cannot understand it. Break the problem down, and explain with as much detail as possible what is happening, and how the system is connected, and type of boiler and controls you have.

hello plumbob it is a vaillent condensing boiler. the boiler seems to be working fine, i have the boiler turned up to max ,but i can have the heating running all day but the radiators only get luke warm, xcept the radiator thats in same room as boiler (first radiator on the circuit) that gets red hot. the flow and return pipework from the boiler to the first radiator is a small lenghth of 22mm then reduces to 15mm for about 3ft, then tees into the first radiator in 10mm and then the circuit continues in 10mm up to the second floor , and that is what a independent plumber said was the problem ,he said the pipework to the second floor needs to be bigger what do you think ? it is controlled by a wireless room stat/programmer and has the old valves on the radiators ie they didnt put any thermostatic valves on for us thank you for your replys

Well, this really is a botch job!

The main feed pipes from the boiler must be in 22mm up to the point it supplies only two rads where it can drop to 15mm or 10mm if only one rad.

It is never going to run right if you have 15mm running the whole house. If the new boiler positioning is different to the old one then they might have tapped it into the system in the wrong place, and to be honest anything could be happening. The narrow bore pipes may not be the only problem.

If you turn off any rads that get fully hot, what happens to the rest?

On another point, thermostatic valves should have been fitted as they are now a requirement, not an option.

hello plumbbob, yes the boiler is in a new position, we use to have a back boiler, and the radiator they tapped into used to be the last radiator on the circuit . the pipework comes from second floor and drops down the wall to the first floor in 10mm and thats the pipework theyv tapped into, hope that makes sense ? when i turn off all the radiators and just leave the living room one on , it does get hotter (ie living room one is most affected) also were they took out the old cylinder what was in the loft , they capped off the flow and return pipes up there , is it possible it cud be air trapped or something (sorry if that sounds stupid just guessing) and the fitters said i didnt need thermastatic valves with that boiler . obviously that was untrue ! thank you for your replys ( ps the living room radiator is brand new what the fitters installed . )

You need to complain to Warm Front at ever increasing decibel levels until they take notice.

Bet theses guys didn't flush the system before fitting the new boiler either. You'll be needing a new Heat Exchanger early and also the warranty has probably been invalidated if they didn't.

Cheers
