Unvented central heating system

Hi
I have a query regarding my central heating system and was wondering is anyone knows the answer. I think my system is an unvented central heating system. basically we have high pressure hot water in showers taps etc, a hot water cylinder but no tank in the loft.
If I put the hot water to heat up and then just put the central heating on the hot water that feeds the showers then goes cold. I thought that the hot water that feeds the tabs/shower would be different to that that supplies the radiators therefore do not understand why putting the heating on makes the shower cold before any water is used.
I anyone could enlighten me that would be much appreciatted.
many thanks
Ed
