I am considering buying a new house but I have some concerns about the pipework, there is a gas pipe extending from the front of the house to the kitchen at the back 22 m. , the pipe is fixed along a shared alleyway (with my next door neighbour) do you think this is a danger
i.e. if myself or my neighbour carries something through and knocks the pipe.
Also there are several pipes on the kitchen outer wall, one is lagged, and there is a cut off pipe ? is this normal practice.

Its quite usual to find a new gas feed outside where a new boiler has been fitted requiring an upgrade to the supply pipe and where its impossible (without major destruction) to install it inside. If its a real concern build a box over it.

I've no idea what the lagged pipe is but I suspect that the cut off pipe is the drain from the PRV - It is a combi boiler I suppose?
