my com-by boiler not working through the night and found the pipe that takes the condenser water away out of a separate pipe had frozen up out side and the water backed up to stopping the boiler from lighting <fault code 6a on mine ,just remove pipe and let the water run into bucket under boiler ,,this not radiator water just but part of the condensing water discharge

My boiler combi not working through the night and found the discharge pipe from the bottom of combi boiler had frozen up outside and the water had backed up <filing the pipe back up to the boiler > and caused the burner not to light, I just removed the discharge pipe which is normally plastic pipe going outside or to a drain out side of your house to let the condensed water run off ,,,, make sure you know which are gas pipes and don’t play with these, read your manual to know what pipes do what

All external condensate discharge pipework should be 1.25" - if it's not it can freeze.

You're supposed to fill the condensate trap with water before running the boiler, if the condensate trap is emptied you could get fumes from the condensate pipework (only for a very very short period of time)

I bet the condensate pipe is undersized.
